I remember as a child eating these specialized mints from France. Each mint contains a small anise seed inside to freshen the breath. Anis of Flavigny is a candy from Flavigny-sur-Ozerain in Burgundy. Anis candies were first made by the Benedictine monks of the abbey of Flavigny, as reported by the Roman traveler Flavius. This recipe is made by only one manufacturer since 1951.
