This ticket once purchased is for a 30 minutes for you to pick 50 fresh Lavender stems in our you-pick field - see tent - at the time you selected. So be sure to arrive at your ticket time, since we have others that will be doing you-pick. Your 30 minute ticket time will allow you plenty of time to choose and cut the stems you prefer to get a very nice bundle of lavender to enjoy the benefits of lavender at home. What a great experience and very rare to cut your own lavenders while enjoying the fresh farm mountain air of North Georgia. We will supply you with our scissors, a flower basket to gather your stems, and instructions to do your you-pick. A staff member will also be at the field to assist you.
Ticket Information: This ticket is for one person only (12 years or older) to do you-pick lavender in the lavender you-pick field. If you have a group, each person in your group must purchase a ticket. This way we can limit only 12 people in the you-pick field at one time to make it enjoyable for all and not overcrowded. Only ticket holders will be admitted to the You-Pick Field at one time. Pets are not allowed in our lavender fields. This is for sanitary reasons, since we grow culinary lavender, and insurance reason, as well as we have chickens on the property. Please do not bring your pets, since they will not be allowed to enter.
Do I have to buy a ticket online? Yes, you must purchase your ticket online here. We will not be selling you-pick lavender tickets at the shop this year to avoid long lines in the shop and to make it enjoyable time while visiting the farm.
Age for You-Pick: Children under 12 are not permitted to cut lavender, because if lavender is cut in the wrong place - below the second set of leaves the whole plant can die. This is our lively hood and would not have a lavender farm if plants die from over cutting.
Do I need to bring my own supplies? No. We will have all the supplies for you to do you-pick lavender. We will supply you safety scissors, basket, visual directions, and ring to measure how many stems you may pick (50 stems). This is to protect our plants and apply to insurance guidelines. You will need to return your supplies when finished cutting (within your 30 minutes ticket time),so others can have supplies.
Where to go to once you arrive: The You-Pick Field will be marked and a tent will be at each field to easily identify where you may you-pick. We leave the other fields available to do photography and to enjoy the beauty of the blooms. Do not take your supplies, including basket outside of the You-Pick Field, since we only have a limited amount of them and will be needed for others. If you want to take cell phone pictures in the other fields you must bring your own basket.
What to do after you are finished with You-Pick: You are welcome to visit the other fields and flowers for cell phone pictures (35mm cameras are not permitted for photos of people). We also have 2 gazebos, small barn, and several picnic tables. Don't forget to visit the shop before or after you-pick for hundreds of lavender products we make right here at the farm. From field to jar - what could be better!
Sales Policy: All sales are final and no refunds or changes will be given, since space is limited and we are so busy we can’t make changes.
Please choose your date and time carefully. Space is limited and we normally sell out very quickly. This is a rain or shine event. We will have a tent out in the you-pick field. We cannot control Mother Nature. Please be a time, since tickets are for that time and gives you 30 minutes to do you picks. We want to keep the field enjoyable for all.
What if you did not get a ticket: You are welcome to wander the rest of the farm for viewing and enjoying, but just cannot be admitted into the You-Pick Field. *Parking is required per car during the month of June through August whether you participate in You-Pick or not. If just visiting the shop Only - no parking fee is required, but will not be admitted into the yard/fields.
Best Date to Pick Lavender: Based on past year's photos we have predicted the best dates to you-pick and see our lavender in bloom. We do have 19 varieties of lavender that each have their own time to bloom. What's in bloom is all due to Mother Nature. Usually in June will be our Intermedia long stem stronger scented lavenders, which are the best for you-picks, because they are the most fragrant. We can tell you at the time you arrive to the you-pick field which lavender variety you are cutting exactly, as well as each field is marked.
Please bring your receipt with you when you come out to do you-pick. Your receipt will act as your ticket. You can either take a photo of your purchased ticket or go low tech and print it off, or even show on your phone. We will also have a list of names of dates and times of people that have purchased tickets at the you-pick field. Some cell serviced phones cannot get reception at our farm being in the country, so please be aware you might not be able to pull up your ticket via cell phone. Tickets are required. If you find that you can't attend your session you are welcome to gift your ticket to someone else.
Admission/Parking to the Farm: admission is the parking fee to the farm, which is 5.00 per car of up to 4 people. Each additional person is 1.00. Children under 12 are free. We will have a collection box at the entrance to our drive and one at the plant tent walkway for taking cash. If you do not have cash you may pay inside our shop. The entrance fee helps us to replace gravel at parking areas, replace grass, help maintain lavenders in you-pick areas, and help to pay added staff to handle our you-picks.
Extra Parking: We have parking near the shop between the trees off the circle driveway. If this parking area 1 is full you may park next door where our trailer is at - go up drive and then turn so you are parking on grass and allow other cars to park too.
Clothing: June can be hot , so please wear appropriate clothing to protect you from sun rays. Hats are often a good choice. Definitely wear closed toed shoes, since bees love the clover in the. grass.
Pollinators: We have lots of butterflies and bees in the Lavender and will usually move on to the next lavender plant while harvesting. If you are allergic to bees please be aware and come prepared. We usually do not have anyone stung, but we are outside with lavender and flowers which do attract bees.
Extra Questions: Please check our FAQ page for more information and our Facebook page for current photos here at the farm.
Restroom: We have a porta-potty located just past the small barm. We do not have an inside public restroom. There are many places before arriving at the farm for public restrooms - 3 minutes from farm at the intersection of Hwy 400 and Hwy 60 and also 15 minutes away in Dawsonville - off Hwy 400.
*We do not have a restaurant at the farm. We do have sodas and water inside the shop for purchase.
